Annual Report design

Freedom From Torture are a UK-based human rights charity providing therapeutic care and advocacy for survivors of torture.

The charity produce life-changing work, and their new impact report needed to fully reflect the depth of their services and the courage of the people they support. Oyster helped to create a powerful, resonant Impact Report that highlights both therapeutic outcomes and policy impact, while honouring the dignity of survivors.

Our Approach

We collaborated with Freedom from Torture’s communications team to ensure the report centred survivor voices , while clearly showcasing the organisation’s impact across therapy, legal advocacy, and national campaigning.

Key design features included an impactful look, with a compassionate tone, using bold brand colours for key calls to action. Real photography where appropriate and pull quotes helped to bring true stories and humanity to the data.

The Result

For a cause as sensitive and vital as supporting survivors of torture, design must walk a careful line; respecting lived experience, while still calling others to stand in solidarity.

The 2024 Impact Report became more than a summary, it became a tool for empathy, awareness, and action and we look forward to working together again to bring more stories and impact to life on the page!

The final product, as well as the process of working with Oyster, was fantastic. Open and punctual communications and a real attention to detail and understanding the brief. I would recommend working with this agency.
